La première apparition à la télévision américaine de Rory Gallagher !!!

Rory au Festival de Nyon (Suisse) en 1983 et en compagnie du guitariste Robbie Noll (second guitariste d’Albert Collins) :



"The Rory Gallagher memories & moments I had with him are so precious.  I cherish them.  This was my first encounter with Rory.  It was a huge music festival in Switzerland.  I remember the trip on a bus from our hotel to the festival grounds.  It looked like a European Woodstock as our bus traveled back roads to get to the huge stage.  I remember we arrived just in time to be the headliner for this late-evening Albert Collin’s and the Icebreaker’s super gig.  So we hit the stage, people as far as I could see.
 We were doing our last numbers.  Albert, with super kinds words, invited Rory up for a tune and the encores.  I let Rory use my 1958 Gibson Dot Neck guitar - afterward, backstage, he thanked me.  He loved the guitar.  We had such a nice chat.  He told me the same thing SRV told me, “You have the greatest gig in the world!”  I tear up to remember that moment.  I wish I could have given this guitar to him but as you can see in the precious pic, I had to continue on this one of many European tours with Albert Collins and the Icebreakers.  
 There would be some other wondrous guitar times with Rory.  Look at our hands on my girl together.  Real blues comes to mind when such a humble, beautiful man’s life is cut so short.  As a favor, will you explore Rory’s life, listen to his songs, and remember how sometimes a picture, a memory, a moment can say so much and be cherished and held precious?" -- Robbie Noll
