J'ai été dans un pub à Westport (le Porter House, super au passage), et je suis tombé sur 2 frères du Donegal, qui m'ont demandé comment avoir le "wayfaye" dans le pub. Il m'a fallu un peu de temps pour comprendre qu'il voulait le code du Wifi...

Bref, on a sympathisé, ils étaient collectionneurs de vieilles Volskwagen ( rirehaut

) et après 2 pintes de Guinness, on a parlé de Rory, qu'ils adoraient, et ils m'ont dit qu'il restait vraiment une icône en Irlande (enfin si j'ai bien compris vu leur accent anglais incroyable).

J'ai vécu plus ou moins la même chose lorsque je suis allé à Glasgow (Écosse) en 2009. J'étais tombé sur un mec avec un accent à couper au couteau.
Après je ne sais pas si c'est parce qu'on baigne dans une culture anglo-saxonne majoritairement américaine, mais j'ai toujours du mal avec l'accent des britanniques et des irlandais. Je trouve l'accent ricain finalement plus compréhensible. Une question d'habitude je pense.

On apprend l'anglais oxfordien à l'école, d'où la difficulté!!! Dans l'ouest de l'Irlande, ça été, on a pu discuter, mais alors avec les mecs du DOnegal (qui étaient en vacances à Westport mais vivent tout au nord du Donegal), là c'était chaud, mais on arrive toujours à se comprendre autour d'une pinte! rirehaut

Il ne sera jamais intronisé à mon avis.
Je me souviens que le comité du Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame était réticent à introniser Deep Purple, au titre que le groupe n'avait pas assez de tubes.
J'ose même pas imaginer ce que ce comité pense de Rory.
Une perte de temps et d'énergie tout ça...
