We are so excited to announce the launch of our new Rewriting Rory website today, which can be found at www.rewritingrory.co.uk

As you will see, we have transferred over all of the content from our old website, but updated it and made it look a bit more user-friendly. We really hope you enjoy browsing around Our old website had, unfortunately, been blocked across social media platforms (we made the mistake of launching it simultaneously two years ago and it got wrongly picked up as spam) and this had hindered the ability to reshare etc.. Thankfully, this should be resolved now with the new website as we slowly roll it out over the next few days.

We will keep our old website open during the transition period and to make sure that everything has copied over okay and then we plan to delete it, so please remember to save the new link above.

Hi all,

Just realised that it's been a few months since we left a message here! We launched a new website back in July - www.rewritingrory.co.uk - full of new content on Rory's final decade. There have also been a number of new posts since then, which we forgot to tell you about here. Oops!

Anyway, today we've launched a new mini blog series called On the Road. This gathers firsthand fan reviews from old Rory fanzines that haven't been digitised before. Our first installment looks at the UK leg of Rory's 1988 tour, which kicked off with two nights at the London Dominium Theatre. The anniversary of the first night at the Dominium is today. The module is focused on Rory and is very much grounded in Lauren's personal experiences as both a fan and an academic. It includes a 1-hour podcast with Lauren and musicologist Dr Michael Lydon on Rory. On this day in 1988, Rory and his band headed to Dublin ready to embark on a 9-date Irish tour, which began with four sell-out nights at the Dublin Olympia on 17 February. Rory called into the RTÉ studios on 16 February to speak to Dave Fanning, giving a wonderful 30-minute interview and live performance of Want'ad Blues.
